Manor house park Hof ter Borght
English manor house park
The domain Hof ter Borght was formed in the late 18th century. The chateau is built like a classic country manor house with a splendid orangerie, a grape conservatory, coach house and aviary. Behind these protected monuments is an equally beautiful park. The main pond is decorated with a duck decoy, an old bridge in the English style and a small pavilion. Around the pond are sections of grass and valuable forests with ancient trees and a hidden icehouse. Its favourable situation next to the beautiful, meandering Grote Nete, on the edge of the Merode district, completes the picture.
The role of Kempens Landschap
The house and park of Hof ter Borght are property of the Luxembourg firm Immobilière Beaumont, which will start a hotel there in the future. Together with the municipality of Hulshout, our organisation leased the park in 2016 for a period of 54 years.
