Green buffer
This strip of greenspace lies between the Antwerp-Hasselt highway and the residential zone along Heikantstraat. It forms a buffer and a pleasant hiking area for the neighbourhood’s inhabitants. Noise pollution is minimized to the greatest extent possible by a noise barrier along the highway. The semi-natural grassland has a forest core and a flowered verge. The planting consists mainly of native trees and flowers.

The role of Kempens Landschap
Thanks to the support of the company BP-Chembel, our organisation was able to purchase and redesign this area. BP-Chembel also helped finance the construction of the noise barrier.
