Umicore and environs

Open area
Around the Umicore business park there is a greenspace with woods and open space. Near the residential core of Sint-Jozef-Olen, there is around 23 hectares of farmland surrounded by hedges and rows of trees. A perfect way to enjoy nature close to home!

The role of Kempens Landschap
Our organisation entered into a long-term lease of this open space with Umicore in 2015. Other partners (the Agentschap voor Natuur en Bos and Bosgroep Kempens Heuvelrug) leased adjacent greenspaces. In the coming years, Kempens Landschap will continue to enhance the area’s landscape and ecology.
